Game of Thrones is one of HBO’s most successful series ever, garnering high evaluations and multiple accolades for both the network and the show’s stars throughout its run. So it should come as no real surprise that its cast members are also some of the highest paid actors of Game Of Thrones on cable TV. But of the show’s ample ensemble, which stars rake in the greatest salary? Here’s how much the GoT performers are making now.
Forward of Season 7, HBO has experienced renegotiation with much of the cast, ponying up huge raises in exchange for the actors extending their individual contracts via an estimated Season 8. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network applies a tiered system to compensate its GoT stars, with those in Tier A bringing in the biggest bucks. So who is on which tier? This really is how it all breaks down.
1. Tier A
As expected, Grade A, aka the highest-paid level, comprises the show’s lead actors, including Emilia Clarke (who plays Daenerys Targaryen), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), and Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister). Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (aka Jaime Lannister) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) are also included in this grade.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the aforementioned Tier An actors have negotiated a new deal that will earn them each a whopping $1.1 million per episode for Seasons 7 and 8.
But there’s a slight catch: each of the approaching seasons will be briefer than preceding ones, with Season 7 running for seven episodes and Season 8 expected to run for six episodes. So while their paychecks might be higher, they’ll be bringing in less of them total. It’s also worth nothing that while the raise helps secure the crucial cast for the series’ closing run, it doesn’t automatically guarantee that all five characters will live til last episodes are ’sed by the show.
2. Tier B
Arya Stark - Game of Thrones
Per THR, the lower-salaried “B” tier comprises costars Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), and several other people who remain unnamed. Of the names including in this grade, Williams is probably the most astonishing, as her character Arya broadly considered a staple of the show and is a fan favoured. Nevertheless, some reports suggest that her younger age could have been a factor in knocking her down to the 2nd grade.

Recent renegotiations that resulted in a pay raise for Seasons 7 and 8 were also reportedly undergone by all of the cast members in this tier though their salaries have not been shown.
What about the remaining part of the cast not contained in Tier or Tier B? Per THR, there's apparently also a third grade of regular actors who received pay increases that are much smaller during negotiations.
Have you ever wondered how much the top-grade talent on Game of Thrones makes per episode? As Variety has released a listing of the top paid performers on television, well, wonder no more, and several actors on Game of Thrones made the cut, as you might expect. The magazine cast the web that was rather sizeable while conducting its survey, including the performers themselves, entertainment executives, attorneys, the performers’ agents and managers, as well we other representatives throughout the industry.
The actors from Game of Thrones that made the list include:
Peter Dinklage—$500k
Lena Headey—$500k
Kit Harington—$500k
Emilia Clarke—$500k
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau—$500k
However, that’s a lot of money for a cable show, even one as huge as Game of Thrones. But as the age of peak TV continues and television brings more top-flight talent, wages are likely to balloon. (It makes you wonder what HBO is paying the likes of Ed Harris and James Marsden over on Westworld.)
